Best Seasons to Visit Uganda

Uganda is a year-round destination thanks to its mild equatorial climate, but the best time depends on what you want to do—especially if you’re planning wildlife safaris or gorilla trekking

Dry Seasons (Best Overall)

Why visit now?

  • Best for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
  • Excellent wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park
  • Roads and trails are drier and easier to navigate
  • Clearer skies for photography

Considerations:

  • Peak tourist season → higher prices and permits sell out early (especially gorilla permits).

 Wet Seasons (Greener & Quieter)

March–May and October–November
