SHOEBILL

The shoebill is a large bird native to the swamps and wetlands of central and eastern Africa. Known for its striking appearance, it has a massive, shoe-shaped bill that gives it its name. These birds are primarily grey in color, with long legs and a robust body. Shoebills are also known for their unique hunting style, often stalking their prey—such as fish and frogs—very slowly before striking with precision.
