KAGULU HILL
Kagulu Hill also known as Kagulu Rock is found in the eastern part of Uganda in Buyende District and is a 4 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala . This wonder of a rock rises approximately above 3,500 ft above sea level. Kagulu Hill has a historical significance as to when Bunyoro kingdom conquered Busoga kingdom and also marks the first settlement area for the Basoga people who migrated from Bunyoro. History has it that Prince Mukama Namutukula of Bunyoro made the Kagulu caves his personal residence.
Kagulu Hill has a very panoramic view from the top, the rocky hill has become a tourist attraction in the 21st century. From the top of Kagulu Hill, one can view the Victoria Nile. There is a waterfall, where water emanates from the rocks and cascades down the hill and exploring the caves at the bottom of the hill offers another activity to visiting travelers’ and hiking this hill is a must not miss.
